It seemed Milan could be stopped in their pursuit of Rangnick by Ibrahimovic, who is reportedly not keen on the German after their incident at the start of the 2020s. However, the tide may be turning and things could be accelerating forward.
Ibrahimovic changes tune on Rangnick
As La Repubblica (via MilanNews) reports, an answer is expected from Rangnick in the next few hours, especially now that Ibrahimovic has become ‘convinced’ of him, after previously not seeing him as the right fit. Indeed, the Swede believes that he is the ‘best way’ to revive the club.
He has always seen the current Austrian manager as ‘capable’ of leading the restart forward. However, he is starting to believe more.
The caveat to it all is that he does not want to take responsibility for the hiring. In the past few years, he has realised he has made mistakes, overexposing himself at times and now nurses a feeling of regret.
It is specifically for this reason that he has made a U-turn. Though it would not matter too much, the final decision rests with Gerry Cardinale, who believes fully in Rangnick.
