Zlatan Ibrahimovic is gearing up for a return to action having almost fully recovered from the knee surgery he underwent straight after the Scudetto win.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Ibrahimovic is following a specific plan that will soon have him back on the training field with his team-mates and then returning to competitive action next February.
Even at over 40 years of age Ibrahimovic found a way to be decisive last season. His appearance was limited but his impact was not, as the Swede scored 8 goals in 23 appearances at the rate of a goal every 126 minutes, even better than when he hoisted the Scudetto with Milan in 2011.
That is without mentioning the role that Ibrahimovic played in the dressing room, summed up in the video posted by Milan in the aftermath of the 3-0 victory against Sassuolo where he flipped the table.
Despite the fact that Zlatan’s quality and strength are beyond any doubt, the question remains about how exactly he will look and play when he returns. He has worked in the gym so far in Dubai, and his dream is to be available for the Supercoppa derby in Saudi Arabia.
His recovery is proceeding smoothly as planned since the end of May. Ibrahimovic could still be fundamental, despite his age, because some things like instinct in the penalty area and coolness remain intact even as the time goes by.
