Zlatan Ibrahimovic has insisted that Milan players should be aiming for the Scudetto and nothing else after the 4-2 win over Juventus.
Ibrahimovic was again crucial as Milan produced a stunning second-half comeback at San Siro on Tuesday night as they recovered from 2-0 down to beat Juventus 4-2.
The Rossoneri netted three times in just over five minutes through a Zlatan penalty and two excellent strikes from Franck Kessie and Rafael Leao to overturn their two-goal deficit.
Ante Rebic had the final say in a thrilling encounter as he continued his ridiculous run of form to make it 4-2.
Ibra has had a hand in eight goals in nine games as a starter with Milan this season (five goals, three assists), and after the game he spoke to Milan TV with his words transcribed by MilanNews.
Did you expect the comeback? “The team is there, we play with a lot of confidence and you can see it on the field. Everyone is fine and everyone believes in what we do. We wanted to win and that’s what we did.”
On making better use of the opportunities: “We are worse at the door and more concrete. Today we have shown, when you play against teams you never have many opportunities. When you have it, you have to exploit it and “kill” it.
How are you? “I’m fine, everything is under control. Before each game we talk and decide that in every game I play a little more but not too much. There are still many games and I want to manage well, I don’t want to miss too many matches.”
On the objectives: “We are doing well, I am sorry that I got halfway there. In my opinion there would have been another situation if I had been there since the first day. But we must look forward, not backward.
“There is the dream of going to Europe but my dream is the Scudetto. If you play for Milan you have to win, not fight for fifth or sixth place. Either first or nothing. But now we are trying to improve even if the situation is different, but as long as we can do our work we go on.”
