CM: Ibrahimovic aiming for Milan return in January 2023 with Champions League in mind

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is aiming to be fit again by January 2023 so he is in a position to play in the Champions League in February, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com today, the Rossoneri striker is relying on his teammates getting the job done against RB Salzburg in the final group game next week so that he can then play a role in the Round of 16.

It is expected that he will be back amongst the squad and the bench for matches in January, when everyone else returns from the World Cup or the planned retreat in Dubai.

He could then play a role in the Champions League which will resume in February. Even if Milan are knocked out by Salzburg, they will be in the Europa League.

Stefano Pioli will be more than thankful to have another striker available after being limited in that area until Divock Origi’s return to fitness.
