GdS: Ibrahimovic wants to win with Milan before making a call on his future

By Oliver Fisher -

A new physical problem for Zlatan Ibrahimovic will keep him out of at least three more crucial games in AC Milan’s season finale.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the Swede will be out for the game against Genoa on Friday, the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Inter and also the trip to Lazio, with the hope that he will be back for the Fiorentina home game.

The 40-year-old has put aside any possible decision on his future but he is convinced that he can still have an important role in the season finale, but then it also cannot be ruled out that he has played his last game this season and perhaps his last as a professional footballer.

Once the season is over Ibrahimovic will decide together with Milan what the future holds, be that extending his contract with the Rossoneri as a player. Nobody at the club have offered a managerial role to him yet because so far no one has had the perception of his desire to quit, but he might be forced to change his plans.

  1. I honestly don’t know what all this overly stretched out saga is all about. Or are Milan in the business of producing telenovelas? Ibrahimovic might think he can decide this or that with regard to his future in AC Milan. Actually, Maldini should disabuse him of any notion that Ibra might have that he has any future as an AC Milan player. The guy is finished. A forward looking team does not build its aspirations on dreams of the past but on constructing a youth-based future-looking system. Ibra is way past his expiry date. I wouldn’t want him in the dressing room either. I have never liked people around me, in my real life, who had an inflated sense of their own importance. I have never found them inspiring but I have often found them to be big pains in the arse. Maldini is more than enough to inspire anybody who needs it. He has won a truckload compared to what Ibra has done. Send Ibra back to Serbia where he truly belongs.

    1. what you like or not like isn’t any of Milan’s concern lmao.

..but i agree that Ibra is more or less done. Whether or not we like it now he is a liability to the team.
