CM: Icardi wants a return to Serie A as Milan hunt for a new No.9

By Oliver Fisher -

Mauro Icardi is looking to try and secure a return to Italy this summer and AC Milan are among the possible destinations, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com report how Icardi has re-found his form on loan at Galatasaray after a difficult period at Paris Saint-Germain having scored nine goals in 12 league games with the Turkish giants, but he is already thinking ahead to next season and a potential destination.

The report claims that the Argentine centre-forward is no longer part of the plans at PSG which Icardi knows and therefore a return there in the summer would just be symbolic given the end of his loan spell, as accommodation is being sought for the 2023-24 season and beyond.

As per the source, Icardi wants to return to Italy and Milan are among the possible candidates given the desire to sign a new No.9 in the summer. At the moment, however, there is nothing concrete between the parties.

  1. There is a player in there we have seen it. Once upon a time, he was regarded as a top 5 striker in the world, but i don’t think the board will want the extra baggage of his family and his rash personality

  2. Please don’t ruin a team by bringing in someone with a history of chaos and a bad attitude. We got rid of Hakan’s attitude, we need to get rid of Bakayoko’s attitude, and we absolutely need to avoid bringing in new bad attitudes.

  3. Apparently Julian Alvarez (who we were linked to a year ago) has asked to leave City this summer.

If we have any reasonably sized budget we should go for him in June. He’s clearly got the talent and work rate, plus given his age could be our long term answer at no.9
