With the San Siro renovation plans being rejected, AC Milan have seemingly decided on their future. That decision looks to be a move to San Donato, and a report has suggested that the next step has been taken.
In recent years, the future of San Siro has been widely discussed, but this year has been the first with notable progress in one way or another. We must look back to January when the idea of a renovation became public, and after several months of discussions, Milan and Inter decided against moving forward with the plans presented.
This has been scrutinised by Mayor Sala, and there have even been reports about the repercussions the two clubs may face as a result of rejecting the idea of a renovation, but the Rossoneri may not have to worry.
The reason is that they are reportedly ‘going ahead’ with the San Donato plans, and the Diavolo are ‘quietly moving forward’ with things, according to Radio Rossonera’s report. In the report, they also cite words from Il Cittadino, and it is suggested that another step forward has been taken.
According to the report, Milan have built a 1.5KM fence around the purchased land, and this news comes after reports that the Rossoneri had cleared the area in recent weeks.
I certainly hope so. We need our own stadium. It will dramatically increase revenue and allow for more money for signing good players. Juve has enormously benefitted from owning their own stadium and that’s what we need to do, too.
I love San Siro and will miss it, including the convenience of having a subway station just next to the stadium. But if moving to San Donato Milanese is what is needed for us to own our stadium, I’m all for it.
Not just the transfer fee but maybe the salary cap will be higher in the future
