Injured AC Milan star Mike Maignan is now aiming to make his return from injury in time to face Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Champions League round of 16, a report claims.
As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport (via Milan News), the French goalkeeper is finally starting to show some genuine signs of improvement when it comes to his fitness.
He has been out for the whole of 2023 and missed the latter part of 2022.
It was assumed that he would be back much sooner than this but now the timeframe is the Champions League round of 16 first leg which takes place at San Siro against Tottenham on February 14.
It is positive that a date can now be put on the possible return of Maignan as there has been a concerning lack of concrete news on how his recovery is progressing.
Ciprian Tatarusanu looks set to continue between the sticks for Milan in the meantime.
