Giornale: Injuries affecting Milan’s title push – investigations ongoing as club make new equipment available

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan believe that they can fight for the Scudetto but if they are to do so then it requires better luck from an injury standpoint, a report claims.

After a practically perfect start to the season, Milan have slowed down somewhat having won just two of their last five league games, with two defeats in there. This morning’s edition of il Giornale (via MilanNews) writes that there are several reasons for the decline in performance that the Rossoneri have suffered but the most important one is that concerning injuries.

In the last few weeks too many players have missed games due to physical problems for a legitimate title challenge to be upheld, thus forcing Stefano Pioli to ask for overtime from the other players which causes fatigue and lapses in attentiveness.

The coach and his staff are investigating the reason for so many injuries while the club have made new equipment available to the team to speed up recovery times, but now they expect to see results from it and an empty treatment room soon.

Fighting for the Scudetto will quickly become an afterthought unless key players can stay healthy, but being knocked out of European competitions has certainly come to the aid of the Rossoneri in that sense.
