The game between AC Milan and Inter will see two under pressure head coaches face off in Stefano Pioli and Simone Inzaghi, a report claims.
Today’s edition of Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) looks ahead to a match that could prove to be decisive for the two coaches. The Nerazzurri boss avoided falling into the abyss at the beginning of 2023, winning the Supercoppa final after beating Milan which came amid a patchy run of form.
However, the coach who is reeling the most is Pioli, who certainly cannot be satisfied with the start of 2023 which has consisted of one win, two draws and four defeats, losing the Supercoppa and being eliminated in the Coppa Italia too.
After throwing away a two-goal lead against Roma, Milan seem to have down from then on and heavy defeats against Inter (3-0), Lazio (4-0) and Sassuolo (5-2) means that the team quite simply need to turn the page or top four will become in real danger.
Despite three trophies won in a year and a half, Inzaghi is often under pressure because the Nerazzurri have dropped points in games against lower-ranking sides, but he is certainly not under the same scrutiny as his counterpart across the Navigli.
