CM: Inter leading the race for €40m Sassuolo star but Milan have registered interest

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Inter are both keeping a close eye on Gianluca Scamacca’s progress at Sassuolo ahead of the summer, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com reports how unless there are surprises, the 23-year-old striker will take the next step in his career in the summer to a bigger club than Sassuolo, but he wants guarantees about being a starter at his new club.

Sassuolo already know that they will lose him and it is no coincidence that they have already started hunting for his replacement, while the list of suitors is now one shorter after Juventus signed Dusan Vlahovic.

Inter and Milan are in the running, with Marotta having already made contacts and sporting director Ricky Massara keen on him since his time at Roma. The Rossoneri are looking for a new reinforcement in attack and they have Scamacca on their list.

The former PSV man wants to stay in Italy and in January he rejected an attempt by Borussia Dortmund. At the moment Inter are in front, but keep an eye on Milan who could offer better payment conditions, though the €40m asking price is a hurdle at the moment.
