Jacobs: ‘Realistic chance’ Saudi move materialises as Bennacer is willing to leave Milan

Ismael Bennacer has been heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in the last few weeks and according to a report, the player is open to it. However, an agreement will have to be reached with AC Milan.

Bennacer missed the first half of last season due to knee surgery carried out at the end of the 2022-23 season. When he returned, he needed time to gain match fitness – as expected – but even after that, he wasn’t really able to shine consistently for Milan.

Therefore, the Rossoneri are willing to evaluate an exit and the midfielder has been heavily linked with Saudi Arabia in the last few weeks. According to the reliable journalist Ben Jacobs, the player himself is open to a move and there is a ‘realistic chance’ that it materialises.

Bennacer is also happy to stay at Milan if a deal cannot be made, so everything depends on a Saudi club offering enough money to the Rossoneri. The release clause is set at €50m and this will likely be the starting price.

At the age of 26, and with last season in mind, some feel that this could be the only chance for Milan to cash in on the midfielder. Especially if a club were to trigger the release clause.

  1. Locatelli and Ederson are the only ones that come to mind who can replace him but Milan will never spend more than 25M…

    1. What will locatelli come to do, how will you even think of him to replace BENNACER, most people will actually do worse if they are allowed to run MILAN, however Ederson is a fantastic fighter that can actually be better than bennacer with a good coach.

    1. If 50 mil is no issue for a Saudi club, then there is nothing for Milan to get done.
50 mil is his release clause. If they think he is worth that much than all they need to do is notify Milan that they will activate it.
The thing is that they most likely don’t want to pay anywhere near 50 mil for him
