CM: Jashari’s moment – Modric injury means Milan will look to €38m man

In the final stage of the season, AC Milan are likely to turn to Ardon Jashari to get them over the finish line, due to Luka Modric’s injury.

Earlier today, it seemed that Milan had got themselves out of a lucky situation and Modric had avoided a serious injury. However, that turned out not to be the case. A report this afternoon confirmed that the Croatian had broken his cheekbone and would miss the rest of the season.

It brings up longer term questions about his future. However, the injury could be used to answer some different questions, in both the short and long term.

Jashari Time

With Modric now out for the rest of the Serie A season, the reliance will fall onto Jashari’s shoulders, who has been deemed Modric’s student all season. Allegri has considered him a number six, as opposed to a box to box midfielder. So, this should be his time to shine, as Calciomercato.com reports.

The Swiss international has not had the easiest season, having suffered an injury in the summer before watching most of the season from the bench.

However, as Modric’s understudy, this has to be his time to show what he can do. In the short-term, he can help the team over the line. If he impresses, though, perhaps there will be a look at next season and how much he will play.

After all, he was a big investment and he cannot remain a benchwarmer for the foreseeable.

      1. Yeah let’s give Fulkrug minutes who we’ve already decided that we don’t want to keep. Literally makes no effing sense. Why does Allegri insist on doing these things? Lol

  1. Been looking forward to him getting his chance (sadly unfortunate circumstances- wishing Modirc well). Jash has loads of talent but needs a few consecutive games which never happened this season for obvious reasons. Hopefully he grabs this with both hands and silence the unwarranted criticism…

  2. Speedy recovery to our Croatian General 🤕.
All the best for Jashari…the bit I’ve seen is definitely promising (should playing time be increased frequently). It’s your time to shine 💥!
Rather an unfortunate situation that Gimenez finds himself in. Since he’s fully fit, shouldn’t he get the nod ahead of Fullkrüg who’s not 100% comfortable with the ball at his feet? Oh I forgot, Allegri’s type of boyfriend is a physical ly imposing no.9 who holds up play for the rest of the team to move up😒. I am aware that Santi’s strike-rate hasn’t lived up to expectations this season, yet being a +/- €32M bench warmer (like how & when will he even score on that bench🤷🏽‍♂️🤔?) won’t alter his goal tally, but nonetheless I stand with Santi ❤️🖤.

  3. Someone should help me here. What position was Ricci meant to play at Milan. Wasn’t he the register in his former club? Is Milan really serious with how they buy players for team setup.

  4. Ricci should be regista. That’s his actual position. Jashari should play instead of Fofana. They should both be on the field.

  5. This could be a blessing in disguise. He started unfortunate with the injury and considering the investment, it’s about time we see this boy in real action.

  6. With one game a week it was always going to take injuries for the bench to get a proper run.

Now’s his chance – come on, lad!
