AC Milan must raise their offer if they wish to sign Ardon Jashari, and the player hopes they do so in the coming hours.
Negotiations with Club Brugge are rarely easy or straightforward as the Charles De Ketelaere signing three years ago showed. The talks over Jashari risk descending into another tedious game of war unless Milan take a big step forward by offering close to what the Belgian side want.
Sacha Tavolieri reported over the weekend that Borussia Dortmund had reignited their pursuit of the 22-year-old but that they are behind Milan. The good news from earlier on Monday – via Fabrizio Romano – is that Jashari only wants to join the Rossoneri.
Jashari hopes for Milan agreement
Matteo Moretto spoke on Romano’s YouTube channel and he offered an update on the situation, suggesting that a resolution one way or another might not be too far away.
“Milan are working to improve their squad by adding players like Jashari. There are updates: Jashari has given top priority to Milan even though there may be other interests at the moment, such as Borussia Dortmund,” he said (via MilanNews).
“The player has given top priority to Milan, he would like to go to Milan and he has communicated this to Brugge: they are his first choice. Then it is clear that an agreement between the clubs is needed and in this sense there is an update.

“Milan have raised the stakes in the last few hours: they have reached 30 million euros plus bonuses. An offer that however seems to me to be still insufficient: Brugge is asking for 35 million fixed base plus bonuses to reach 40.
“The player is waiting for Milan to be able to make another offer, for Milan to push further. It is essential that Milan raise the stakes if they actually want Jashari, trying to get as close as possible to Brugge’s requests.
“We will understand in the next few hours and days, I say more hours than days, if Milan is willing to raise the stakes to get to the queen.
“But the situation in at this moment is the following: Jashari wants to go to Milan, he is waiting for a further increase from the Rossoneri club which has reached 30 million plus bonuses. Brugge is asking for 35 plus bonuses. We will understand what developments there can be for this negotiation.”

I like that we’re trying to get some good players through the door but… with Modric / Ricci in, do we need to blow the budget on Jashari? How good is he really (maybe im scarred by CdK being the ideal signing and Brugge playing hardball)
Im not against his signing to be clear, I just mean on priorities. If the extra 5-10mn Brugge are demanding means we miss out on say Dodo RB or a good LB, we are quite well stocked in midfield already even with the departure of Reijnders.
Just a thought, it’s for debate im not saying hes a bad player (I only really watched him against us! )
I agree with you there – either they think he’s a generational talent, in which case pay, or otherwise make sure the fullback department has some serviceable players in it. Both fullback sides are my concern at the moment.
Full-back, central midfield and right midfield are the main problems and another center forward is needed. That’s five players and unless the deadwood is moved on, it’s going to be very difficult to bring in 5 players.
Who ever said that CDK was the ideal signing?
Milan needed a midfielder, but signed CDK who was a forward at Brugge and then Pioli played him as a midfielder.
He leaves Milan for Atalanta where he is plays as a forward and he plays on the same level or better than he did at Brugge.
Jashari is a dynamic midfielder that Milan desperately needs with the Reijnders departure. Different midfielder from Reijnders but a midfielder Milan absolutely needs.
Erm, maybe im misremembering but CDK was the player who was the “missing piece” the perfect modern no.10 to link attack and midfield etc etc. He was really really chased hard, it was a saga all summer and believed to be the guy who could become the next Kaka or whatever.
It only seems exaggerated now because hes showed mentally he wasn’t ready for the step up, and now at Atalanta hes more of a forward than an attacking midfielder. But im sure I remember he was the statement/highlight signing of that summer window and brought a lot of excitement before hed even stepped on the field.
My point is all signings are a risk, but is Jashari worth the risk of the extra money when we already have many midfielders?
I remember the first time I saw him play and I said he’s a box player and not a number 10, I was almost slaughtered and severely bashed in here because of the hype around him.
But time has shown that from our then legendary Director to the scouting department, it was a poor transfer decision, good player, but not fit into our system and formation.
And we just lost Kessie, but the management spent a lot of money to get cdk even though we already have Adli & Brahim,
I think it’s worth it. We’ve been chronically understrength in midfield since Kessie left, disrupting the trifecta of Tonali, Kessie and Bennacer. Kessie wasn’t “replaced”, and basically Krunic started getting more time. Then Tonali was sold and Reijners came in. So, in actuality, Ricci “replaces” Reijnders, and then we still need another high quality midfielder to “replace” Kessie, so that we can start three quality midfielders starting at the same time, probably Ricci-Jashari-Fofana. Otherwise it’s Modric-Ricci-Fofana or RLC-Ricci-Fofana, and given that Modric is 40, and RLC is injury-prone, it is a risky lineup. One long injury to Fofana or Ricci and once again we’ll have a knackered midfield, which is the most important area of the pitch, and why, fundamentally, we’ve been underperforming since the aforementioned Kessie was sold and inadequately replaced.
As to funds, we have 55M in the bank from Reijnders, and 14M in the bank from Kalulu. ~35M for Jashari, 23M for Ricci, so we would technically still have ~11M in the bank. Musah will bring in 23-25M, and Theo will bring in another 30M. That’s another ~66M to spend between LB and RB, and I can make an argument that we don’t even really need a “better” RB for the upcoming season, given that we’ve got Saelemaekers and Jimenez. If we were playing in the CL, I might have a different opinion, but for Serie A and Coppa Italia only, I think we might be covered. So probably 55-65M for a LB at a 25M budget, and a striker at a 30-40M budget. After that the starters would be covered.
For Leoni or a better CB than the ones we’ve got to come in, a current CB would have to be sold, plus Pobega and Adli, who could bring in another 15M. Thiaw has been mooted at 25M, so maybe a 40M budget for that. Any leftovers funds might and should be used for depth at LB.
“…and 14M in the bank from Kalulu…”
They will pay this amount instalmentally for 3 years, we only received around 5m so far.
Ugh, ok. But even if you reduce that 14M to 4.6M, it reduced our “budget” from about ~124M to 114.6M, which should still be enough for the aforementioned transfers, with the striker budget going down a bit. And by the way, these funds are all from sales, and there is probably still another 25M out of Bennacer, Pobega and Adli.
So according to Girardi we gonna up our bid from 30mn to 32mn and hope Brugge will compromise. Lets see if the breakthrough comes …
John we made 350 million euros to 400+ over three seasons and we are currently 25 in the black for last season. We we 80 million euros yearly, beneath our allowed wage budget by FFP. We shouldn’t have any cashflow issues whatsoever.
That’s oversimplifying how football budgets work – it’s not about transfer fees to spend, it’s about the cost per year of the player.
Spend 10M on a player with a 2 year contract and a 4M net salary and the cost is about 10M per year. Plus whatever signing bonus is agreed and agent commission in the first year.
Spend 40M on a player on a 5 year contract and pay a 2.5M net salary and the cost is about 11.5M per year. Again, plus commissions and bonuses.
We’ll have a budget for the season that’s based on the cost of the players on the books for that season, the transfer fee is only one of the details that determines that
Fluminense just beat inter playing inter’s game. Park the bus and counter.
Inter defense is as bad as Barcelona’s defense was in the 2 semi-final UCL games.
Thiago Silva at 40 still one of the best defenders out there.
Chivu will be one of the 1st coaches to be fired in serie A next season.
I didn’t watch the game but I’m wondering was Inter this bad or they just don’t care about this competition as much as Fluminese ?
They are bad without Hakan.
If they sell him this summer they will be even worse next season.
Asllani is trash. Inter fans were criticizing Simone Inzaghi for not playing that bum, while Simone was right all along about him.
Their defense is swiss cheese. Every time Fluminense went forward they were close to scoring.
This is good news and bad news for us. Bad news, Inter is now on break. Good news, it’s probable that they probably won’t challenge for the title next season. My guess is that next season will be a classic 2010s scudetto, where one club, in this case Napoli, will take an early lead and have the title basically wrapped up by February. The rest will be fighting it out for the European spots.
There’s no chance that’s happening. Napoli don’t have a good enough squad to dominate the league. The scudetto is probably between Juventus, Napoli, Milan and Inter. We have some very talented players. There’s no reason we can’t challenge.
Lautaro Martínez:
“1 want to fight for top titles. Who wants to stay at Inter, very good, and let’s fight. Who doesn’t want to stay, they can go and leave.
“We need players who want to be here. We are wearing an important jersey. We need top mentality or please, leave. ”
This is what captain should think and sound.
But we have some fans here crying after Theo, who was Milan’s captain and was totally the opposite when it comes to fight and mentality.
Theo, please, leave!!!
The way Lautaro Martínez talks makes me feel he’s aiming at some player or some players.
Player A has been rewarded with a huge contract extension last summer and is competing for every trophy every season. Player B has been denied a contract extension and is playing for a team with 2 or 3 coaches a season, that finished 8th in Serie A, eliminated from UCL by juggernaut Feyenoord and that lost Coppa Italia final against a team with ten times less resources.
You will never guess who is happy and who’s not!
Yep, Lautaro simply tell CalhaSnake to beat the crap out of Shinter, fvckin hillarious and amazing…
And yes, The Merdi had an atrocious game against Fluminense 😂.
Theo lives rent free in some y’all heads….an article about Jashari and somehow Theo gets brought up out of the blue, what in the world 😂🤣🤣
Just like CDK , he is big gamble. If success he can become like SMS ( also come from jupiler league to lazio and tare was the DS that bring him) , if fail , he will get sold next season with huge loss . If it is just 5m euro difference just buy him, you can that money from selling yunus musah ( minimum 20m euro) or bennacer(minimum 7m euro). Jashari are dynamic midfield . Trio jashari,fofana,modric/ricci are balanced.
Quan điểm đã là mục tiêu thì phải đạt lấy.
Ricci.. Tonali
Jashari.. Bannecca
Fofana.. kessie
Are you thinking what am thinking??
