Marco Sportiello already has an agreement with Milan for the summer, when his contract with Atalanta will expire, and there has been talk of a January move as well. However, this doesn’t seem very likely based on what has filtered.
According to Franco Ordine in his latest editorial for MilanNews, Milan do have the option of bringing in Sportiello earlier than expected. However, they will have to pay €5m to convince Atalanta and that is certainly excessive.
The Rossoneri could always turn to another goalkeeper, but similar problems are likely to arise and thus Stefano Pioli could rely on Ciprian Tatarusanu for now. It should be remembered that he also has Antonio Mirante at his disposal.
