Juventus are in the market for a new central defender and they have added Fikayo Tomori to their list of targets, a report claims.
Tuttosport are reporting this morning that Juventus have entered an emergency when it comes to their options in the centre of defence, given the long-term injuries that Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal have suffered. Manuel Locatelli has even offered his services to play that role.
The eyes of the management are cast towards David Hancko of Feyenoord, but he is more an option for the summer than for January even if Cristiano Giuntoli is trying to bring the deal forward by a few months. Feyenoord, though, are looking for €30m to sell.
The Bianconeri are thus following alternative paths and this is where Tomori comes in. The Turin-based paper describes it as ‘another Kalulu-style opportunity’, taking advantage of the difficulties that the Englishman is going through.
Tomori has been sidelined by Fonseca who now prefers the Matteo Gabbia and Malick Thiaw pairing then Strahinja Pavlovic as an alternative. It is a situation that has ‘annoyed’ the ex-Chelsea man,who is ‘now increasingly willing to consider a change of team‘.
There are many doubts in Milan’s mind, though. Firstly they have seen Kalulu slot into the starting XI of a rival and want to avoid that happening again, secondly a loan seems unlikely and thirdly they would have to sign a replacement for Tomori.
Tomori’s “annoyed” while playing like Cristian Zapata?
I can’t believe we didn’t sell this guy this summer or a year ago. EPL should be where he goes. We need that cash to make some moves. Hopefully we can entice VVD to join on a free transfer.
I would love vvd to join, he’s even said himself some of his favorite players/idols were Milan defenders, but the management is to stupid to see an opportunity if it’s hitting them in the face
Sell tomori but not to juve, we shouldn’t be selling to our rivals, just look at kalulu, Adli, and pobega. We should sell him to west ham who have been looking at signing him for a while, and do what juve do with there “take a chance signing” loan in ousmane doimonde who is a young talented defender that would cost 10-15 mill less than we would selling tomori for, we’ve been rumored with him recently and if he impresses buy him on a permanent
I don’t trust the director transfer strategy, all by statistic number. Bring in Italian star. Build trust from the curvasud
Well this is not going to happen unless are management are actually insane, we have only 4 CB’s, so no matter how unhappy Tomori is he shud stay at least until summer.
If we plan on selling him in summer, then bring in a new CB in January like Kiwor or whoever on loan with option to buy in summer.
If things work out we can complete the purchase and at that point consider Tomori and whether to sell.
It is very useful to have a pacey CB like him so I would be in no hurry to sell. Also last year he was playing amazing before his injury.
At thi spoint with our raggedy squad we shud prob play 343
Tomori would be obvious choice for the right side. Play Theo and Jimenez as wing backs.
That way we hopefully never see Emerson again
If the clowns now managing milan – furlani, ibra, moncada – ever sell/send tomori to juventus, i will immediately destroy my membership card and join inter or atalanta or roma. Of course, nobody will care since i am simply a country bumpkin ….. but at least i am not a fukcing idiot like that trio.
To repeat the kalulu mistake would be unpardonable …. after all tomori could still make a comeback and rediscover his old form.
Maldini’s Heir would love that, so he could tell us all about how Tomori-Kalulu is one of the greatest CB pairings of all time.
Could Tomori be used to give Fofana some rest and play as a double pivot?
Between injuries and a thin midfield to start with. We have no way to rest him currently.
He’s a very fast and mobile centre back.
