Kaka reveals emotions upon joining Milan: “I can say that it was love at first sight”

Former AC Milan star Ricardo Kaka has revealed that joining the Rossoneri was ‘love at first sight’ for him, while reflecting on his time at the club.

Kaka is one of the most decorated players in the club’s illustrious history, having had a spectacular career at Milan which included 307 appearances, 104 goals, 68 assists, five major trophies and a Ballon d’Or title too.

He is an embodiment for many of the last time Milan truly had the best player in the world, and the affection that he feels towards the club – as well as the love the fans feel towards him – means that it will be a never-ending love story.

The former Brazil star spoke to the club’s official media channel about his arrival at the club back in 2003, and his quotes were transcribed by MilanLive.

“It was an authentic thing with the fans. When a feeling is natural you can see, of course the results have helped but the fans have always understood me, I can say that it was love at first sight,” he said.

“When you play the first Derby, you don’t quite understand what it really means for a Milan player. The emotion is truly special. Goals? For me there were bonuses during a game, for me it was more important to assist and participate in the game.”

Kaka worked under many Milan coaches, but one sticks out above the rest.

“Ancelotti was the coach who made me get the best results. He has the ability to make his players their best and I’m not just talking about myself. The coach is a true leader, he has the sensitivity to say the right things at the right time. He knows how to manage people, in addition to his great coaching skills.”
