Kalulu discusses switching to full-back and says Milan ‘have studied’ Cremonese

By Isak Möller -

Ahead of the clash between AC Milan and Cremonese, Pierre Kalulu spoke to the media about the Rossoneri’s form. The Frenchman won’t play from start, getting some rest thanks to Malick Thiaw.

Kalulu has been the starting right-back for Milan over the last month or so as both Davide Calabria and Alessandro Florenzi are injured. Sergino Dest has also struggled with minor injuries and is out today, but Stefano Pioli still wanted to rest Kalulu.

Thiaw, who came off the bench last time out, will start on the right this evening. Kalulu still got interview duties, though, and spoke to MilanTV (via SempreMilan.it) ahead of what is an important game for the Rossoneri.

On playing as a full-back…

“As a full-back, you need to know a little more about who you play with, control the movement and also that of your teammates. Then the more you play there, the more you learn the defensive movements.”

What game do you expect?

“We have tudied them, despite the limited time available. Cremonese play well, have clear ideas about the game and have had no luck in the last few games. It’s up to us to find the right game solution.”

Milan need to keep up with Napoli and every point is crucial ahead of the World Cup break, with just this and one more match remaining. Hopefully, Pioli’s men will add another win to their tally.
