Sky: Kalulu fully recovered from calf problem – Pioli has full UCL squad available

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have virtually a clean bill of health going into the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final clash against Napoli, it has been confirmed.

Training took place at Milanello today on the eve of the game and it is the final session prior to tomorrow’s game against Luciano Spalletti’s side, so some clues arrived regarding the squad that will be available and the line-up that might be chosen.

According to Sky (via MilanNews), Pierre Kalulu has fully recovered from the muscle problem in his calf that he sustained while with the France U21 national team and today he did the whole session with the rest of the group.

With his return for tomorrow’s match against Napoli, Stefano Pioli will therefore have at his disposal all the players who are part of the UEFA squad list. However, at the moment it seems that Simon Kjaer is more likely to start.

  1. Could be a curse in disguise. The Tomori-Kalulu CB pairing is an Achilles’ heel. They’re too similar. Given that Napoli will be missing Osimhen I think we roll with Tomori-Kjaer again. With Osimhen I think we go Tomori-Thiaw.
