Kalulu reveals key strength amid absences and says Milan ‘dream of finishing first”

By Isak Möller -

It hasn’t been an easy season for Milan, with several injuries and absences, forcing Stefano Pioli to field more than one emergency solution. Yet, they are still at the top of the standings, which is very impressive.

Pierre Kalulu was one of the emergency solutions, replacing Matteo Gabbia at centre-back as Simon Kjaer was out injured. Alongside Alessio Romagnoli, he impressed and has gone from strength to strength in recent weeks.

In an interview with Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, the young Frenchman was asked about the injury struggles. He revealed that everyone works very hard at the training ground and this helps when the depth is thin.

“It’s true that many absences have hit us, important players have been missing. But all the players give their all for the team in training. So when someone is missing because they are injured or suspended, we know that whoever replaces them will be ready to give everything,” he began.

Milan are currently three points clear at the top of the standings and could be crowned winter champions if they win against Cagliari on Monday. Kalulu was asked about the team’s ambitions and a potential Scudetto win.

“Obviously we dream of finishing first, to win the league, but we know the road is long. There is still a lot of work to be done and there are many games to win to reach our dream,” he concluded.
