Kalulu thankful for ‘important’ rest after ‘long and intense’ season so far

AC Milan defender Pierre Kalulu believes that the period of rest the team have been able to enjoy has been a useful one, and he wishes his compatriots well for tomorrow’s World Cup semi-final.

Milan arrived in Dubai over the weekend and have had a couple of days of training ahead of their first friendly in the Dubai Super Cup against Arsenal, which kicks off at 15:00 CET today and will be another useful test, albeit with a lot of key players missing.

Kalulu spoke during an interview with Sky about the training camp so far ahead of the game against Arsenal this afternoon, a game he will start in, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“It is true that these two-three weeks of rest have been important. The season has been long and intense. I found the team well and we are happy to be back playing together,” he said.

Some believed Kalulu had an outside chance of making the Frence squad for the World Cup in Qatar but instead he is having to follow their journey remotely.

“You are always happy when your national team is strong, I hope Theo and Giroud do well and I look to the national team for the future,” the defender said.
