Kalulu unhappy with refereeing in Chelsea loss: “At this level it is not a foul”

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan defender Pierre Kalulu has joined the growing list of people criticising referee Daniel Siebert after his horror show in the loss to Chelsea tonight.

Milan fell to another defeat against Chelsea as they were beaten 2-0 at San Siro in the Champions League, but it was a game full of controversy as the outcome of the game was almost entirely influenced by a baffling decision in the 18th minute.

The German referee Siebert made a huge call as he sent Fikayo Tomori off and gave a penalty after he adjudged the defender to have hauled back Mason Mount, even though every replay suggested it was the wrong decision with Mount getting his shot away and not even appealling.

A visibly frustrated Kalulu spoke to Mediaset Infinity+ after the game to reflect on what happened with the incident inside the opening 20 minutes, with his response relayed by MilanNews.

“The incident is… I take it badly, the attacker finishes his action. The foul is very soft. At this level it is not a foul. We wanted to play another match compared to London, but… Now we have two other important and decisive games to go through. We will give everything to go through.”

  1. Agreed, this game is becoming sissy ball. The girls play tougher these days. Players are to blame for some of it, refs the rest. Despicable.
