With 13 games left of the season, AC Milan are at serious risk of missing out on the Champions League for the 2025-26 campaign. Either way, big changes are expected in the summer, so which players should remain?
That is exactly the question Oliver and Anthony asked themselves in the latest edition of the bonus podcast. The season isn’t over yet, as said, but the feeling is that most Milan fans are willing to press fast forward and discuss what to do next. Indeed, there will be a lot to do in the summer.
In terms of which players to keep, there are layers to the discussion. The managerial switch, i.e. from Paulo Fonseca and Sergio Conceicao, was more beneficial for some players than others and this has perhaps made evaluations slightly more difficult – especially since the manager might not stay beyond this season anyway.
In any case, Oliver and Anthony both gave it a proper go. You can watch/listen to the free 20-minute preview below but for the full episode, you need to subscribe to our Substack. You can try 7 days completely for free and cancel at any time!
Milan should build with reijnders, pulisic,Santa Gimenez, and pavolovic at the back cause that guy is a fight i see the spirit of milanista in him,I don’t like talking about the management red bird will be the one to decide who to leave and who stay
Agreed! Like every fan we have our own team that we think is best, so here is mine.
Sell : Leao, Theo, Chuk, Thiaw
Buy : Ricci, Scalvini, Destiny, Lucca, Felix, Fillipo Mané, Cardosso.
Swap : Tomori, Cheek + 15mil = Tonali.
Swap : Mike, In: Donnarumma. (I know, unpopular choice. But if Mike stays then Torriani needs to be second choice and play more games!)
Team 4321.
.Donnarumma.
Walker, Scalvini, Pavlovic, Destiny:
Fofana, Ricci, Tonali:
Pulisic, Reijnders:
Giminez
Done. Flying fullbacks, solid centre backs, combative midfield, creative attacking mid, Lethal Goalscorer.
I can dream.lol.
I really like this. Finally a Milan team that can control the midfield. Funneling all the attacks through Pulisic and Reijnders. I think this could be really dynamic. Except Walker doesn’t fit. You need really offensive fullbacks here. With three strong midfielders I wouldn’t be adverse to playing Walker as a center back. He seems to have a better command of shape than anyone else on the current team, and he could cover up for Pavlovic when he makes his wild runs forward.
I really like this, especially bringing back donaruma and tonali. The later will die for milan
but looking at both goals and assists I may give a chance to leap he someone who is not very selfish but passes. But he is only effective if he has a LB like Theo who has pace and pass, maybe Alex Jimenez should be Tried in LB again he similars Theo.
One more thing, you many fail to acknowledge is that the reason we had to play additional CL Matches is because we lost to zegreb and when we blame Theo, there is enough blame to be put on Yunus mousa for that red. He should be sold, it’s enough with rejinders, fofana and tobali and I would rather give chance to RLC than to mousa, why to have him just because he is American ? He is no Frank kessie
I would really build defence around pavalovic man is a fighter, an one man army.
Again your suggestion are very solid.
If milan do stick with 4231 we should get kuhn from celtic for the right. 25 million minimum for him. Alot of clubs will be after him so milan cant stall with putting in a serious offer. Pulisic can take leaos spot
Ac milan should sell leao Theo chuku cheek maignian tomori
First we dont know if sergio get sacked or stay. His contract only extended if ACM finish minimum 4th serie A this season. If Sergio stay sell okafor, chukwu,RLC,Theo and release Florenzi. Bring Ricci,2 player LB,Saladmaker ( back on loan), young striker to compete with Santi & camarda for striker spot. If Sergio get sacked, then need to waiting who the new coach and what is his favourite formation
…I wonder how some people here think we can get Tonali back
Donnarumma’s name was involved and Tonali is the difficult operation to you? We seem to forget how much of a merchant he is, especially compared to Tonali who is a die hard Milan fan. It would be easier to get him back in red and black than Dollarumma
