Sky: Spurs interest and Milan’s final bid – chances of Kessie renewing now ‘almost zero’

By Oliver Fisher -

The chances of Franck Kessie renewing his contract with AC Milan are now so low that they are ‘almost zero’, according to one Sky journalist.

Manuele Baiocchini spoke on Sky (via MilanNews) about Kessie’s contractual situation and the negotiation over the renewal of his deal which expires at the end of the season, or rather the lack of a negotiation because the two parties are standing very firm in their respective stances.

He reports that it ‘could be Kessie’s last derby’ because ‘the chances of him renewing his contract are almost zero’. There have been no new meetings after the one in Bologna, between Kessie’s agent George Atangana and Milan’s sporting director Ricky Massara.

The Rossoneri’s most recent and best offer is €5m net per season fixed plus around €800k in bonuses, and it has not been accepted by the player. Milan have never raised this bid because they believe it to be fair, so now the Ivorian can sign with another team since it is past February 1.

There was interest from Tottenham during the January market, but Kessie decided to stay at Milan until June and then he will be free to test the market and essentially hand pick his next club.
