Sky: Milan will keep trying to find an agreement with Kessie ‘until the end’ amid PSG interest

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will try until the end to reach an agreement with Franck Kessie over the renewal of his contract even if at the moment it seems unlikely, a report claims.

Luca Marchetti spoke on Sky (via MilanNews) about the situation surrounding Kessie, beginning by remarking how the Ivorian is not repeating the same levels that he hit in last year’s campaign. Therefore, if the negotiations are based on this season and reviewing certain performances like his one in the derby, Milan will not give him the money he asks for.

There may be some English clubs and PSG that are interesting the player, but he asked Milan for more than €8m net per season in order to extend his deal beyond the current deadline of June.

Economically the Rossoneri management know that this is not an advantageous operation for them given that €8m per season for a multi-year extension would end up costing the club €80m in gross if it were a five-year term, for example. Despite this, Marchetti states that Milan will continue to try and renew Kessie ‘until the end’.

    1. He doesn’t love (or even appreciate) Milan and Milan-fans definitely don’t love him. It’s best for all he leaves. The sooner the better. He is useless on the pitch nowadays as Inter-match perfectly showed.
