Kjaer: “Milan has been a dream for me for years, I feel really good and I hope to stay for years”

Defender Simon Kjaer has revealed that he has dreamed of being an AC Milan player for years, and he hopes to stay for years too.

Kjaer only arrived at Milan during the most recent January transfer window earlier in the year, but he has already established himself as one of the most important players in Stefano Pioli’s starting XI.

The 31-year-old joined on an initial loan from Sevilla until the end of the 2019-20 season before making his move a permanent one, and it is tough to think of a better €3.5m spent (the transfer fee as per reports from all the major outlets) in recent years.

Kjaer who spoke at a press conference on the eve of Denmark’s match against England, and was asked about rumours that he could have joined an English club and played in the Premier League, with his comments transcribed by MilanNews.

“I came close to playing in England more than once, but I have always loved good weather, food and the south, so at that moment with my family we made the right decision,” he said.

“It would have been interesting but in football you never know, things can change fast, but I’m at a point of my career and in a place where I want to stay, I’m very happy. Milan has been a dream for me for years, I feel really good and I hope to stay for years.”
