AC Milan midfielder Rade Krunic believes that the squad are ‘calm’ heading into the season finale, needing just one point to win the Scudetto.
Milan got a crucial three points at San Siro yesterday evening which means that a draw against Sassuolo in round 38 will be enough to lift the Serie A trophy for the first time since the 2010-11 season.
In truth Milan looked nervous and sloppy in the first 45 minutes as Atalanta perhaps edged proceedings and Stefano Pioli’s men struggled to put their stamp on the game, misplacing passes and generally looking wasteful.
However, the game changed in the second half with the introduction of a couple of substitutes and Rafael Leao got the opening goal of the match with a fantastic touch and finish, before Theo Hernandez’s amazing solo run made it 2-0 with just over 15 minutes left.
Krunic was interviewed by SportMediaset after the game against La Dea, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.
On Atalanta: “It was a difficult match against a difficult opponent, like all the recent matches have been. The stadium was full, with all these fans we just had to win.”
On the growth of Milan: “It’s not easy for the younger players, but I see all the guys very calm. We have to give 120%, then the result is never known, but we must always give our best. It wasn’t easy against Atalanta, but the most important thing is that we won.”
On the group: “The whole team has a hand. In every training session we always give our best. I am always available for the team and for the coach, no matter the position, the important thing is to win the title. This pushes me to always do my best.”
On the Scudetto: “It’s a dream for us. We never gave up even when we were at -7. Now is the time to close the season in the best possible way.”
