Inter’s Lautaro and Marotta both believe Milan can still win Serie A title: “The road is long”

By Euan Burns -

Inter striker Lautaro Martinez and CEO Beppe Marotta both think that AC Milan are still firmly in the Serie A title race despite falling behind the Nerazzurri and Juventus in recent weeks.

Speaking to Sport Mediaset (via Milan News), star striker Martinez was asked about whether Juventus are the main rivals for Inter in the title race this season.

He chose to highlight how long the season still has to go and also mentioned Milan and Napoli as teams that will be involved later in the campaign.

“The road is still long, the first round hasn’t even finished. We have to continue like this because there are other strong teams like Milan and Napoli,” Lautaro said.

Marotta was speaking at the Gazzetta Awards (via Milan News) and he was also asked about a title race between Juventus and Inter this season. He pointed out that a fight between two teams will open the door for a third team.

“Who will win between Inter and Juventus? A fight between two teams may be good for a third team,” Marotta said.

Inter currently sit top of Serie A with a two-point lead over Juventus, whilst Milan are six points away from the top.

Inter as much as it hurt’s me to say it,will be scudetto champs and will probably go close again in the champions league.

Inter probably has the best team in italy and europe at the moment. They play good football.

They are 5 notches above us.
