Lawyer explains why Donnarumma and Romagnoli felt it was right to leave Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

Lawyer Rafaela Pimenta has given some insight into how and why Gianluigi Donnarumma and Alessio Romagnoli ended up leaving AC Milan on free transfers.

Donnarumma was the first to depart Milan in the summer of 2021 as contract negotiations between the management and his then-agent the late Mino Raiola reached an impasse which forced Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara to go out and sign Mike Maignan as his replacement, with the Italian goalkeeper joining PSG in the weeks after.

Romagnoli’s departure was much less controversial as the defender had dropped out of Stefano Pioli’s first choice XI and after hoisting the Scudetto trophy back in May he secured a move to his boyhood club Lazio on a free.

Now Rafaela Pimenta, a lawyer who took charge of the list of clients that once belonged to Raiola, spoke of the operations that led two Rossoneri to leave Milan in the recent past.

“Donnarumma? At PSG he overcame the initial difficulties well. His was a sporting choice to question himself and increase his experiences, he didn’t leave Milan for economic reasons,” she said (via SempreMilan.it).

“Alessio Romagnoli made a choice as a fan: he could have gone to the Premier League and earned more, now he feels happy in Lazio.”

  1. Everytime they said it wasn’t about economic reason, it’s more obvious it’s all about money. The truth is I don’t care even if they went for a shit.

    1. It’s funny because the negotiation between Romangoil and lazio took almost 6 months till they found the financial agreement, and these lairs has the gut to say it’s not about money!🤦🏻😂

  2. the worst thing is, its not about player money that much. its agents money. the more they transfer the more the get money
    so thats why

  3. To be fair, Romagnoli did not follow the money. He was not a starter at Milan and he was not offered too much. In fact I am not even sure if he was officially offered a renewal. In any case it was pretty clear he was not really wanted so his choice was completely fine.
Donna’s case is just ridiculous. He can pay as many people as he wants to say that it was about money but none will ever believe. No player ever left Italy to go to France for sporting reasons.

  4. Lol for any Italians or people who live in Italy if you ever need a lawyer this dude isn’t the right one. And yeah Romagnoli left Milan after 7 years to play for his boyhood club while Dollaruma left his boyhood club to get experience in France? At P$g? What kind of experience can you get at a club that is doomed to fail? And don’t come with “yeah but they win the league” they win the league where there isn’t any other contenders just like Juventus with 11 serie a in row till Milan clubs started getting themselves

  5. That is completely Bullsh..!Romagnoli went for 500.000 per year more, nothing else,Dollaruma made the same thing after contracts end(cashing premium for free transfer).Kakan made the same,Kessie too…all of them cashed free trasfer premium fom new clubs, plus slightly pay rise. These shit talks about sport targets, and new klima, whatsoever….pure bullshit!!That is not a problem,it is ok for players to try to get as much as posible…problem is when Club have a lost cause of free lavings, that is major issue!!!!Sell them man in January(18 months of contracts),take money, invest it further, and move on!!!!Leao dosnt want new contract???Ok,sell, reinvest it,and move on!He and all others, sistem sis always the same
