AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has made two changes to his starting line-up from the team that played Inter in midweek for tonight’s game against Lazio.
Milan will be without Ismael Bennacer who is out with a slight ankle problem, though the good news for Pioli is that he gets Zlatan Ibrahimovic back as well as Ante Rebic, meaning that there are a couple more options in attack compared to the cup derby loss in midweek.
Mike Maignan will have a four-man defence in front of him with Davide Calabria, Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez forming the rearguard from right to left.
Franck Kessie moves back from his central attacking midfielder role to accompany Sandro Tonali in the double pivot, and Brahim Diaz is the playmaker. Junior Messias and Rafael Leao are on the right and left wing, behind Olivier Giroud.
Official Lazio XI (4-3-3): Strakosha; Lazzari, Acerbi, Patric, Radu; Luis Alberto, Lucas Leiva, Milinkovic-Savic; Felipe Anderson, Immobile, Zaccagni.
Bench: Adamonis, Reina; Hysaj, Kamenović, Luiz Felipe, Marušić; Akpa-Akpro, Bašić, Cataldi, Romero; Cabral, Moro.
Official Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, T. Hernandez; Kessie, Tonali; Messias, Brahim Diaz, Leao; Giroud.
Bench: Mirante, Tătărușanu; Ballo-Touré, Gabbia, Romagnoli; Bakayoko, Castillejo, Krunić, Saelemaekers; Ibrahimović, Lazetić, Rebić.
Even just on paper that Lazio team looks stronger, Pioli really has worked miracles this season. I hope people remember that whatever the result.
yes!! totally agreed. I also hope he gets better depth to for the next season.
You understand
Agree Pioli has had us punching above our weight class. I do hope he gives Rebic a chance at RW today now that Ibra is back so he can sub Giroud out instead of Rebic up top. Saele is worthless in the final third.
Milan Can not Defend if Calabria plays.
Kalalu is solid and well defensive player.
He must play on the right back wing.
Pioli is an inter fan
