Lazio president urges Milan and Inter to ‘choose legality’: “Need to enact legislation”

AC Milan and Inter ultras have been a heated topic in recent days, with reports stating that both sets of fans have been partaking in illegal activities, and Claudio Lotito, Lazio’s president, has urged both clubs to help the legal parties. 

It has been a few days since the Prosecutor’s Office raided the properties of some Milan and Inter ultras, leading to 16 arrests, and the story is beginning to unravel.

We have already seen some members of the Curva Sud and Nord be given DASPOs, and with reports of the activities in San Siro, more action could be taken.

In the upcoming days and weeks, there is more that will emerge from the case, and when speaking to Sky before his club’s game against Nice, the president urged both Milanese clubs to support the investigation and called for legislation to be introduced, and his words have been relayed by Milan News.

“I don’t know the facts, I can’t pass judgement on them. I can only take a clear position, as I’ve always done since I’ve been president of Lazio. You have to choose between legality and consensus, and for clubs it is absolutely compulsory to choose legality.

“‘Legality’ entails the removal of all those individuals who use football as a source of profit. There are a whole series of illegal activities in the curves, which lead to the debasement of sporting values and problems of security and public order. I am also a promoter of it, we need to enact legislation to prevent it.”
