Le10Sport: €50m Milan star at the centre of rising tensions between PSG owners and Leonardo

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer is at the centre of a fall-out between Paris Saint-Germain’s owners and sporting director Leonardo, a report claims.

Bennacer joined from Empoli last summer and has been one of the shining lights in a difficult season for the Rossoneri, earning a spot in the starting XI and never looking back while forming an effective double pivot with Franck Kessie.

As Le10Sport writes, PSG sporting director Leonardo has been tasked with sourcing a signing for the midfield, and he has targeted Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Lorenzo Pellegrini of Lazio and Roma respectively.

The outlet claims that the Parisians’ owners – the Qatari group – are big fans of Ismael Bennacer and believe that he would come in at a cheaper price of €50million, which is the release clause in his contract which becomes active next year.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reported earlier today how Milan may have to “defend” Bennacer from the courtship of the big European clubs.
