Le10Sport: Mahrez and Guardiola lead Man City’s attempts to beat PSG to €50m Milan star

By Oliver Fisher -

Manchester City have not given up on the idea of signing of Ismael Bennacer from AC Milan this summer and believe they have an important card to play, a report claims.

Bennacer and his midfield partner Franck Kessie have been a huge part of Milan’s recent resurgence, as the African duo are the real metronome of the game designed by Stefano Pioli. However, the performance of the former Empoli man has not gone unnoticed.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive) reported on Monday that Pep Guardiola has ‘fallen in love with the player’, so much that he wants to bring him to England immediately. Paris Saint-Germain have shown an inclination to offer as much as €50million, a figure that Guardiola could also spend.

According to a report from Le10Sport, PSG have seen two bids rejected by Milan, one for €30m and the next for €40m, but the Ligue 1 side are not alone in their pursuit.

Guardiola is hoping that Bennacer’s Algeria team-mates Riyad Mahrez can convince his compatriot to come, while RMC Sport claim Pep has already called the 22-year-old to present his project and his ideas to include Bennacer in his game plan.
