Le10Sport: Marseille defender could snub Milan and Arsenal in order to pen new deal

By Oliver Fisher -

Marseille defender Jordan Amavi could snub the interest of AC Milan and Arsenal in order to sign a new deal, a report claims.

Il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive) reported that Jordan Amavi is one of four alternative targets Milan have lined up to reinforce the full-back department given Junior Firpo probably won’t join from Barcelona.

According to Le10Sport however, Marseille sporting director Pablo Longoria has not lost hope of extending Amavi and also the Milan-linked winger Florian Thauvin, whose contracts end next June.

The report claims that Amavi and the Ligue 1 side could quickly reach an agreement to extend the contract of the French full-back, who will be 27 next Tuesday. A new three-season contract could be signed, and it would represent an important bit of business for Marseille.

That is because Amavi has no shortage of admirers, given that he is being chased by clubs like Milan and Arsenal, but Longoria is set to make a statement early into his tenure as their sporting director.
