MN: Leao wants to ‘make history’ with Milan – when the signing of his renewal will come

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s attack has struggled to click in recent weeks but the one shining star has been Rafael Leao, and his renewal is reportedly imminent.

MilanNews recall how in Milan’s three consecutive draws against Salernitana, Udinese and Inter, it was Leao who showed the intensity and confidence to be the main threat for Stefano Pioli’s team, and the feeling is that he is the only forward who can take the game on his own.

The winger himself is very grateful to Milan and to Stefano Pioli for his evident growth, as he revealed in an interview with DAZN: “Despite the difficulties, Pioli made me play and placed me in a starting role. It is thanks to him that I became the current player.”

Leao does not want to stop where he is now because he is in his early 20s and he knows he still has a lot to do to grow and develop further, something which he hopes to do with the Rossoneri.

“I’m fine here, Milan is my home. I’ve been here for three years. I want to make history here, I want my name to be in the museum when I finish playing,” he said.

His renewal will take place as soon as the procedural affair involving him, Lille and Sporting CP is resolved. As soon as everything is over, Leao should sign an extension with Milan until 2026, earning €4.5m net per season plus bonuses compared to the €1.5m he currently gets.
