Leao speaks out after Lazio loss: “We are against everything and everyone”

Only Matteo Gabbia and Sergio Conceicao spoke to the media after the defeat to Lazio, but now Rafael Leao has published his thoughts.

Milan suffered yet another blow in what has been a terrible season in the league so far by losing in the 98th minute against Lazio. There was plenty of refereeing controversy, but the feeling is that anything that can go wrong for the Rossoneri is going wrong.

Sergio Conceicao suggested to DAZN after the full-time whistle that his players are feeling the negative atmosphere that surrounds the club at present and it is translating into poor results.

Leao meanwhile has now posted a story on Instagram with the following message: β€œUnfortunately, we are against everything and everyone. We are working to get positive results again and the group will continue to be more united than ever!”

It must be said that Leao had a mixed night on a personal level, setting up the equalising goal in the 84th minute but also had an altercation with some supporters in the lower tier.

  1. LOL, is he including the fans’ protest in this statement? It’s been six years and he still hasn’t figured out what club he’s playing for scale-wise. Tells you a lout about his mentality – just in case you haven’t already picked up the bread clues that he spreads around the season by constantly refusing to run, drinking water 50 meters away from teammates and coach, missing sitters, crossing for ghosts at the far post, rapping, modelling, writing in social media, etc.

    1. The statistics says something different, the last I checked he is an attacker not a defender and he delivers as an attacker, stop criticizing Leao. The only goal was provided by Leao from a superb cross, his goal contribution should be among top 3 if not number 1. Leave Leao alone

      1. There’s no such thing as “he is not a defender” in today football, you have to help the team with high pressing and covering ground when the opponent is holing the ball. Look at our left side whenever we lose the ball, five seconds later the other team is creating an incredibly dangerous situation that only Pavlovic is somehow trying to neutralize (much like his red card last night). It’s because neither Leao, nor his girlfriend Theo track back.
As for the offensive “statistics”, please don’t get me started, he has fewer goals than Reijnders who is a midfielder, less assists than Pulisic in the last year and a half since the American arrived, and is constantly destroying attacks with lazy, no-look crosses or ego-driven positional trickery that annoys the San Siro fans more than the actual players he is supposed to “trick”. Far from our worst player or anything, just lazy and with awful mentality. This season he’s been playing the victim card via social media outbursts which tells you a lot about his mindset. Maybe, instead of only looking at stats, you should try looking deeper into other aspects of sports and football in general.

        1. Agreed bro. Leao and Theo they two are soooo good in attacking, but please, they have to be mature right now.

When they lose the ball, they must at that moment tracking back, help and saved our defense. Not just light running or walking or etc.

Pulisic is doing better than Leao and Theo. He as fast as he can, tracking back when he lost the ball.

Thats why, I agreed that Leao and Theo are not upgrading theirselves, even though they are our icon, our biggest assets. So selling them is okay, as long as we can get other potential players.

Barcelona have did this with Ronaldinho.

        2. Well if you have messi in your team, do you still ask him to do high press? The problem are not leao but LB THeo. Because his late decision making Pavlo must do foul. If you have LB like Paolo Maldini then leao dont need to do pressing. The RB Kyle Walker ( before he absence) do defense duty and that let puli free as RW

          1. And let’s not forget that Saelemaekers has as many goals in Serie A this season with half the minutes played. Let that sink in when you admire Leao’s stats.

        3. You are sooo right. He is a very lazy player and as you mentioned, doesn’t track back. He is so talented yet so frustrating to watch.

      2. I have to agree here. Like Ancelotti said,.if I had Ronaldo why am I making him track back?

Leao just ran past players several times yesterday in order to create chances but ppl here still saying he didn’t do anything because he didn’t score or win the game all by himself. Fyi he had an assist being a man down and totally gassed by the end of the game. They all were. Playing a man down what did we expect. We should be glad he carved out a few opportunities.

      3. Cant wait to see him gone in the summer so you and his co*k sucker fans can also followed him and see it for yourself that this guy will never ever be a world class player.

  2. Sell Theo, sell Leao, send Felix back to Chelsea, start looking coach who can work with youngsters, hire sport director, and buy good players who have fighting spirit.

Lets make a step by step progress, lets make this team back to the winning mentality, play collective, play as a team again, and not just counting on 1 or 2 players again. Make this team mature first.

Just make a better progress, thats it.

Enough of fabulous four. Better play collective as a small team, but mature in thought and mentality as a team. Thats all for the next season.

And for this rest season, I hope Mr. Sergio will use his subs. Our first team right now is not good. Mr. Sergio must rotate his fabs four obviously, there is talents in his subs that he can use.

Hope this rest season, we can reach 3 points again in every match.

  3. Keep Leao at Milan.
The healthiest thing for the team at this point is a bunker mentality, and to play hard for each other. But our left back has always been for himself.

    1. Tomori is a walking red card, he is always out of position and struggling to get back and usually gets a yellow and very close to getting reds a lot.

  4. Leao is terrible at taking on defenders from the left side once the action has settled. Tries to do too much and loses the ball again…… and again….. and again. The rare success doesn’t compensate.
Yet the offense runs through him over and over again, instead of through players who could facilitate creating space and service.

  5. Leao can come up with any excuses. The fact is that he doesn’t do much for the team when he hasn’t got the ball. His defensive part is zero. AC don’t really need him, I believe Sottil can fill his position easily. Pity the coach keep on using the same donkeys !!

  6. What an arrogant player !
Look who is talking about hard work and unity.
You’d better go home and leave us!!
Now an altercation with a fan…you progress in the right direction but you are not Eric Cantona…
May be you whish to were…
