Rafael Leao’s priority is to stay at AC Milan but he wants a top salary in order to continue his career with the club, a report claims.
According to what Tuttomercatoweb (via SempreMilan.it) are reporting, Leao’s priority is to stay at Milan as Portuguese striker feels at the centre of an ambitious project that can lead him to become one of the best in the world, but his performances must also be compensated in terms of salaries.

Leao – voted as the MVP of the last Serie A season – has started the current season showing just how decisive he is with three goal contributions in the Derby della Madonnina on Saturday including an excellently taken brace.
After having refused a renewal a few months ago, Leao has revealed to the management and entourage his first intention of staying with the Rossoneri for a long time, but to do so he wants to earn a salary similar to what Dusan Vlahovic gets at Juventus.

Staying at Milan is not his priority, getting a contract of a specific size is his priority. If stating at Milan is his priority, he could do so with no problem. But it isn’t. The money is.
He’s perfectly entitled to have that as a priority, but let’s not pretend otherwise because he played good football last weekend.
Why don’t staying at Milan his priority? Because he’s asking for 7M? At What figure would you consider him prioritize it Milan at? 4M?3M?? LOL. If Tonali or Mike or Theo asks for 7M are they no longer wanting to stay at Milan?? Sorry but that makes no sense. Nothing wrong with a player wanting to get paid market value FOR ITALY. If he was asking for English league market value for salary then I could understand your argument. But he’s not. He’s asking to be paid as one of the top players IN THIS LEAGUE. Once you win MVP of the LEAGUE it is not unreasoning ask to be one of its highest paid players. Anyone would do that and to think otherwise is delusional

In every profession, if you are among the best in your field, you wanna get paid like the best get paid. That’s why I had no issues with Giggio and Kessie asking and going for the higher offer. At the time Giggio was top 3 GK, Kessie top 3 DM.
Are Vlahovic, Lukaku, Lautaro, Pogba better players than Leao? I don’t think so. He is at least equal and better than them.
To those that say Leao hasn’t proven it yet. Vlahovic got that big transfer move and the huge salary after just 1 good year. Half of his goals were from penalties and the whole Florentina team played to feed him the ball. He isn’t someone that can create for himself, unlike Leao who creates for himself and others. It’s like comparing Sheva and Inzaghi.
Pay Leao and hopefully he’ll continue to improve , produce and stay healthy.
One of the qualities I like the most about Leao is that he plays thru contact, never dives, flops or exaggerate fouls. Unlike the most of the footballers today, including our own Theo and Tonali.
Pay Leao, pay Bennacer, Kalulu, Tonali, and give Giroud an extension. I feel no one enjoys being a Milan player , on & off the field, than Giroud. He is still in incredible shape and he brings experience and leadership

Did he actually say that it must be in line with Dusan Vlahovic? When last have Milan had such star quality? Pay him and renew…… The last 11 years was just to painful. We now have quality all over the pitch. Massive praises to the technical and leadership team for turning it around.

He fully deserves to have the highest sallary in the squad, the man is the star of the company, period.
In my opinion he is deserved get 7m euro nett include bonus. But if he asked more than 7m euro then better sell him to EPL club . Yes he is good & priority to renew by new owner but we cannot just give him more than 7m euro . It is in Red Bird hand now
