Leao reacts on way to team bus after overhearing Motta say Spezia deserved to beat Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

Rafael Leao did not seem to agree with Spezia coach Thiago Motta’s assessments after their win over AC Milan as he claimed the three points were deserved.

It was a highly controversial game at San Siro this evening as Spezia claimed all three points through a 95th minute winner from Emmanuel Gyasi who arguable should not have even been on the field given the challenges he made after receiving a yellow card in the first half.

Minutes prior to that winning goal there was a very confusing moment as Junior Messias curled an effort into the top corner first time after Ante Rebic managed to bundle it through to him, but for some reason referee Marco Serra whistled just before he shot for a foul on the Croatian, therefore ignoring an obvious advantage.

According to DAZN (via FootballItalia), Leao reacted after the game to comments form Spezia coach Thiago Motta as he said the Ligurian side ‘deserved’ to beat Milan.

“We could have scored other goals in the second half and, overall, I believe we deserved to win, even if Leao doesn’t agree,” is what Motta said. The broadcaster claim that the Portuguese winger was on his way to the team coach and heard the comments, so he told him his point of view.
