AC Milan have ushered in a new era with Igli Tare and Massimiliano Allegri at the helm, but Rafael Leao will remain as a fixed pillar.
It was yet another up and down campaign for Leao. Although he racked up 25 goal contributions in 50 games (12 goals, 13 assists) which is far from a bad return, he lost his starting spot at various points in the season and had issues with both coaches.
This had led to suggestions that he might seek a move away from the club. Corriere dello Sport for example reported yesterday that the feeling is the winger might like a fresh start elsewhere.
Leao: A key pillar for the new era
This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) spoke about the new era that will be launched, with Tare as the sporting director and Allegri as the new coach. There is a fixed point and it has already been made clear to the club: Rafael Leao will be at the centre of their plans.
Translated into clearer terms: Leao will not leave this summer. The only thing that will make the club reconsider is a truly irrefutable offer that at the moment is not expected.

Even the player himself, in these hours, has received important reassurances about his future and that point in the direction of him remaining for 2025-26, and perhaps beyond.
It is clear that then the ball will pass to the Portuguese, in every sense, who will have to demonstrate that he is able to raise his level under a coach like Allegri, who certainly will not come to Milanello to laugh and joke.
