Rafael Leao caused Micah Richards to cry tears of laughter as he did not understand Jamie Carragher’s Liverpool accent during an interview last night.
The Portuguese winger spoke to the CBS Champions League show after a fantastic performance in which he got the assist that ended up securing a spot in the semi-finals, with a 1-1 draw on the night against Napoli good enough for a 2-1 aggregate win.

Micah Richards said hello to Leao in Italian and Thierry Henry spoke in French to the former Lille man, but it would be fair to say that he had some issues with Carragher’s accent.
Carragher asked: “Rafael, obviously the big rival of yours, Inter Milan, are in the other semi-final. Would you like that, with your biggest rival in the semi-final?”
Leao replied: “I didn’t understand. Can you repeat please?”
Carragher said: “They have the same problem in the studio!
“Inter Milan are playing tomorrow… Internazionale. Would you like to play them in the semi-final?”
Richards, Henry and Abdo were in hysterics listening to Carragher’s attempts to make himself clearer before Abdo asked the question and he understood first time.

Thierry Henry, one of those players that I always wanted at Milan, and I think Galliani was close to signing him in 2006 to replace Sheva, but Henry decided to sign a new contract with Arsenal after they reached the UCL final that year
It looks like everybody is laughing so hard to Caragher (and his accent) not to Leao for not understanding him. Only Sheva is not laughing at all (he obviously put on a fake grin), likely because he didn’t understand at all what’s going on.
