AC Milan may face less intense competition to sign Charles De Ketelaere as Leeds United appear to be ‘resigned’ in the race, a report claims.
In his usual segment on Sky for Calciomercato L’Originale (via MilanNews), Gianluca Di Marzio took stock of the negotiations for De Ketelaere and confirmed that an agreement with Brugge is yet to be found as there is distance between the parties.

Furthermore, he adds that Leeds United have ‘resigned themselves’ because they understood that the player wants Milan and Milan only. Now it’s up to the Rossoneri to find a deal with the Ligue 1 side by raising their bid in the right way.

It was Maldini who wants a CB – so he knows about football than all of us. Maldini wanted to move Kalulu to RB (his natural and favored position) to provide an attacking threat on the right side that Calabria doesn’t provide. Love Kajer but he’s 34 and coming off major knee surgery so who knows how he will respond. That leaves Gabbia who is not ready at all and should be loaned out for experience. So yes per Maldini we still need a CB – perhaps it’s not a 30m player – but we need someone and cannot rely on what we currently have esp w CL and World Cup and a truncated schedule. We should go after Bremer – as a Tomori/Bremer CB duo would be sick with Theo and Kalulu on wings – a brick wall IMO – w Kalulu sliding into back 3 when Theo charges forward – But doubt we spend 40m on Bremer. Getting another starting CB shows M&M are unsure about Kajer’s health and are not sold on Calabria as our starting RB as he doesn’t provide anything going forward. Has nothing to do w lack of confidence in Kalulu. He’s a starter. If we had signed Botman or Bremer or we take Diallo – he moves to RB – if we don’t he stays at CB. We need to improve the right side – we all know this – too predictable always attacking on Left side w Theo/Leao. Great teams need to be balanced. M&M know this hence the moves to improve the right side. That starts w getting a starting CB and moving Kalulu to RB according to M&M.
Yeah if both kalulu and tomori injured in same time , who will play? Kjaer and you? You want to depend on kjaer that already old ,have ACL? Even romagnoli now better than kjaer. Wake up dude ,you cannot just expect 2 player kalulu tomori play 1 years full while have old player with ACL as back up
