Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch has confirmed that the club have not fully given up on signing Charles De Ketelaere but conceded that things now look very difficult.
Sky (via MilanNews) last night reported that Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will depart for Belgium today with the objective of closing a deal for De Ketelaere, given that the situation has become a bit static.
Milan have two certainties: the first is that they will invest a lot of money (around €30m plus bonuses) and The second is that the player has chosen Milan. However, the club will not participate in auctions, so if they think Brugge are playing hardball amid interest from the Premier League, they will move on to other targets.
During a press conference before a friendly against Crystal Palace today, Leeds boss Marsch admitted Leeds may need to move on from De Ketelaere.
“It’s been well documented that De Ketelaere was a goal of ours. But we’ve also moved on to other targets and we’re trying to figure out the best fit if in the end, which is what we believe, he will not be available,” he said (via BBC).
Music to my ears
It’s obviously a positive sign but we still need to see what Brugge are going to do and if they’re going to play difficult nonetheless
of course Gigi but all signs pretty much points towards him joining us regardless if the deal isnt yet over the line.
I really do hope so man!
Brugge can’t risk turning down a deal. If CDK goes down with an injury, they lose value. I doubt they’ll get a better bid and Belgium isn’t one of the major leagues, they’re dreaming if they think they can get high above €30 million. It’s a game of chicken…
I honestly wish we will sign him and Gakpo of psv then loan messiah out, but it’s only a wish which I pray will come true
CDK will become the most expensive player from belgium league jupiler. Lets hope this will be happy ending for AC Milan get CDK and maybe noa lang as bonus
