AC Milan are seriously interested in signing Roma star Henrikh Mkhitaryan on a free transfer, according to a report.
According to a report from Leggo (via MilanNews), the Armenian winger – who has had an excellent season with Roma – is not sure of staying in the capital next year and could leave on a free transfer when his contract expires on May 31.
Milan are thinking about an approach seriously given their desire to reinforce the creative department. Among the reasons why Mkhitaryan could leave the Giallorossi is the arrival of Jose Mourinho as head coach, a man with whom he did not exactly have an ideal relationship at Manchester United.
The former Arsenal playmaker has 14 goals and 13 assists in 45 games for the capital club in all competitions this season, and although he is 32 years of age he could represent a smart piece of business on a free transfer.
