L’Equipe: Lyon ready to launch bid for Paqueta but two of three players must leave first

By Oliver Fisher -

Lyon are ready to accelerate their attempts to land Lucas Paqueta from AC Milan if they sell two of three players this summer, a report claims.

Some eyebrows were raised when it was revealed that head coach Stefano Pioli had left Paqueta out of the squad to face Shamrock Rovers.

MilanNews have confirmed that the decision to exclude Paqueta from the 20-man squad was entirely a technical one and nothing to do with injury – despite the unavailability of Rafael Leao and Ante Rebic – which adds duel to the fire regarding a potential sale.

According to L’Equipe, if at least two players leave between Houssem Aouar, Memphis Depay and Jeff Reine-Adélaïde, Lyon will launch their attack for Paqueta.

The Brazilian playmaker is the priority target of their sporting director Juninho, a player he he followed for a few years now, while it is believed Milan will ask for €22-25m.
