To revive their European ambitions, after their resurgence in the league, AC Milan will need a top striker. Robert Lewandowski could be the name.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport report, Lewandowski is someone whose reputation rightly precedes him due to his goals across the continent, particularly in Germany and Spain. Between the Bundesliga and LaLiga alone, the striker has scored 565 goals.

In the season in which he turned 37, Lewandowski has already scored 12 league goals, more than all the Milan forwards still chasing double figures. Rafael Leao is closest with nine, followed by Christian Pulisic with eight.
Lewandowski was born in Warsaw in August 1988, just three years younger than the 40-year-old Modric. In the turbulent market for centre-forwards, scorers of his volume are scarce, and those few there are cost a hefty premium.
Yet, he could represent an opportunity. The Pole’s contract with Barcelona is expiring this summer meaning Milan would sign him without a transfer fee. This is why the striker’s managers are working to explore new opportunities.
After Munich and Barcelona, Lewandowski wants another major European club, and Milan are one of them. Lewandowski is ‘offering himself’ to the Rossoneri as per the paper, because he is looking for another major challenge. Juventus, who have long been interested, could also be a candidate.
An elite scorer at least?
The wage demands remain high, but the Rossoneri will make their calculations. Lewandowski would add a significant amount of goals and experience: after making his debut in Poland, he joined Borussia Dortmund in 2010, where he scored his first 103 goals in major European tournaments.
Four years later, he moved to Bayern Munich as a free agent, scoring 344 goals in Bavaria. To his various domestic titles already in his trophy cabinet, he also added the Champions League, European Super Cup and Club World Cup.
Since joining Barcelona in 2022, he has scored another 118 goals. He remains the third-highest scorer in the Champions League, behind only Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi. He scored another 89 goals for the Polish national team, for which he holds the record for most appearances with 165.
He has topped the Polish league scoring charts once, the Bundesliga scoring charts seven times, and has been the top scorer in Spain once, as well as in one Champions League season.
It is perhaps a short-term move, given his age, but it would certainly instantly solve the goal-scoring crisis that has plagued Milan and which has ended up limiting their ambitions this season.
