Despite all of the reports circulating to the contrary, Matteo Moretto claims AC Milan do not consider Robert Lewandowski a top target.
On Sunday, La Gazzetta dello Sport spoke of a ‘race’ for Lewandowski between Milan and Juventus, the two big rivals in Italian football who are also battling for a top four spot. The paper stated that the Pole’s agent is due in Italy for talks before the two teams meet at the weekend.

Milan are looking for a new starting striker ahead of next season, and it is easy to see why they might want the Pole. He has scored 565 goals across spells Borussia Dortmund (103), Bayern Munich (344) and Barcelona (118) and could fascinated by the idea of a last dance in Italy, as Luka Modric was.
Lewandowski ‘not a top target’
In an update on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel posted last night, Matteo Moretto discussed the future of Lewandowski and those insistent links with a potential move to Milan.
“Lewandowski’s contract with Barcelona is expiring, and he’s negotiating a contract extension with them at a low price, but there’s a very good chance that these will be his final months as a Barça striker. A final decision hasn’t been made yet, but the indications point to that path,” he said.
“The Pole is approaching 38 but continues to score a lot of goals. He remains a top-class striker, even if he’s played a little less in recent months. Lewandowski has been linked several times with Italian clubs, but he also has options in the MLS, and several clubs in Europe are interested in him.
“As far as Milan are concerned, from what I understand, there’s no unanimous consensus within the Rossoneri management regarding Lewandowski’s name. We’ll see if anything changes, but as of now, given his age, salary and other factors, he’s not at the top of Milan’s list. Then, in the market, anything can change.”

Is he better than camarda
He’s probably the only striker who could come in and handle the pressure and responsibility.
Look at all the strikers the club has signed in the last 20 years.
The only ones to succeed were:
1. Ibra
2. Giroud;
3. Bacca;
4. Balotelli (the first time);
5. Pato;
6. Menez (!)
Who else?
What other CF has succeeded in the last 20 (twenty) years?
It has to be Lewandowski. There’s no one else.
Maybe Krzysztof Piątek, Balo, and Rebic?
Rebic wasn’t really playing in that role. Only a handful of matches there and majority elsewhere. But yes, he was a success for the first 1,5 seasons. And Piatek did well on his first season but then faded. Faded, because he stopped getting the service he needed.
Piątek faded because strikers will have ups and downs.
The issue at Milan is as soon as there’s a down they move onto the next one.
We need to accept that a striker may have a season where they only score one goal. And that’s ok because the next they might score 30.
Shevchenko scored 10 in 39 games in 02/03 and 29 in 45 in 03/04/
Inzaghi only got into double figures in 7 of his 11 seasons at Milan.
The club now faces this exact dilemma.
It could well give up on Leao and/or Pulisic after one bad season (where the club finishes in the top 2 and both players end in double figures).
They have to end the conveyor belt eventually. At least if they’re going to give up on Leao and/or Pulisic then they can try for some certainty with Lewandowski.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we sold ’em both. And neither of them have had a “bad season” but merely “a bad half a season”.
It would be very foolish to let them go and gamble on some nobodies because that’s what we’ll be getting to replace them. Or has-beens.
Piątek started well but faded.
Balotelli certainly in his first stint. He single handily dragged Milan into the Champions League.
Rebic wasn’t really a striker but definitely stepped up and scored some big goals over the years.
He can’t score anymore
Scoring a lot of goals or not. At this age, he should just simply move to Saudi. He does not have 60 minutes in his leg if he starts every single match. And yes, I expect the main CF next season to start every single match in all competitions.
Lewy wont come, why?
1. Barca want extend & whatever Barca over, Milan will only lower
2. if he want CL he will stay or join Inter, if he want Scudetto he’ll join Inter/ Napoli/ Juve
3. he’ll struggle, less provide/ creativity + adaptation
4. too many head in Milan,
foolani want cheapee, moncada want French/ exChelsea, Tare want Balcans & Allegri want his ex’s
5. Lewy is winner, he wont come only as posterboy/ jersey seller
