Robert Lewandowski has admitted that he does not know what the future holds for him at Barcelona, amid strong links with AC Milan.

This morning, a report from Tuttosport claimed that Milan have been considering the idea of signing Lewandowski on a free transfer next summer. They believe he could have a similar impact to the one Luka Modric has had, with his experience and ability to still perform at the top level.

The Rossoneri hierarchy spoke with Pole’s entourage to see if they were willing to negotiate and received encouraging signals. However, any discussions are geared more towards June than January, given that the ex-Bayern man still wants to finish this season at Barcelona.

‘I’m at peace with myself’

Lewandowski spoke about his future at club level while with the Polish national team ahead of their next two World Cup qualifiers in the final international break of 2025. He was asked about the idea of leaving Barcelona, and MilanNews relayed his comments.

What do you say to Barcelona about your future?

“I don’t know what to say to Barça. I don’t know the answer yet. That’s why I’m in no rush, I’m at peace with myself. And that’s the most important thing.

“Even if, for example, the club contacted me now, I still wouldn’t answer that question. Because I also need to hear what’s best for me. Now I’m calm, I’m in no rush, and right now, I don’t expect anything else.”

    1. He’d be 38 years old before next season starts. He won’t be able to continue playing in Europe without a drastic pay cut. Even if he stays at Barcelona, they won’t be paying him nowhere near what he makes now.
At Barca hed most likely be a bench player but at Milan he will start.
      Its not that unrealistic move.

    1. He is not a pensioner. Even at 38 he still can make a difference and would probably be the best CF in Serie A. Physically he is a machine, he is one of the best attackers ever, his positioning is great and he can play the ball as well. The age is not a problem if you take care of yourself- Luka is showing that. And Lewy takes care of himself very well.

      1. “Physically he is a machine”. Barcelona wants to get rid of him because he can’t press as good as the rest of team. So physically he is not a machine, if he was Barcelona wouldn’t even try to get rid of him.

        1. And we’re not pressing high under Allegri and Serie A is relatively slow.
I don’t know how good/bad he’ll be with us, but I can’t imagine him being worse than Nkunku or Giménez.

          1. And? Who said we are and anything about that? He said that Lewandowski is a machine physically. He is not.

But if he’ll come for 3.5M€ net per season, like Modric, ok. But he wants to be paid like he is 25. Anything over what Modric is getting is too much.
