MN: Liverpool forward has ‘handshake’ with Milan over deal worth €16m

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are in talks with the entourage of Divock Origi to try and reach a final definitive agreement over a contract, according to a report.

According to MilanNews, the dialogue is continuing and the situation is progressing but a final agreement on salary and some bonuses is needed. Despite this, there is no hurry because Origi is currently with the Belgian national team which slows things down and then there is the fact it is a free transfer, so there is not a negotiation with Liverpool to be had.

The only obstacle could be the inclusion of other clubs in the race to land the 26-year-old, but the player ‘has a handshake’ with Milan to sign a four-year agreement at around €4m net per season, therefore around €16m net in total and €24m gross with the Growth Decree.

The operation has yet to be completed but the parties are on the right track, and it seems Stefano Pioli will have a younger centre-forward to work with in 2022-23.
