Rafael Leao’s future at AC Milan beyond the summer is not certain, and Liverpool are the latest club to be linked with a move for him.

It has been a strange season for Leao, starting with the usual hopes that he could become a 20-goal man as he has threatened to be for several years before being held back by his inconsistencies.

The rollercoaster form has continued, and he has spent more time on the bench than usual under Paulo Fonseca first and now Sergio Conceicao, under whom he seems to have become a bit of a ‘super sub’.

According to SportMediaset (via MilanNews), some rumours have resurfaced in the last few hours regarding a potential summer exit for Leao after what would have been six years with the club.

Liverpool are the latest side to be linked, fresh from their elimination from the Champions League against PSG. The Reds are said to be ready to go on the attack for the Portuguese striker , especially if Milan were not to participate in any European competition next season.

At the moment, the management are of the belief that Leao remains an essential asset for the club – while waiting for news on the new coach and what he thinks – while the winger himself feels like the leader of the team.

  1. Cashing on him could be much better now dan waiting on his gradual decline which will eventually tell on his market value. If the management are smart enough they should be scouting his replacement because Leao cannot improve much more dan he is now. It could be a good business of Milan can at least rack upto 100million for him

  2. Leap is best attacker in the league, but also the most lazy player on the Italian fields. Plus he can’t give a good assist. He just throws the ball in and hopes there is someone there. I wouldn’t be sad if he and Theo leave. But who is suitable to take their place atm? And are they willing to come and is Milan willing to pay?

  3. If they can just manage to sell Maignan, Tomori, Gabbja, Theo and Leao then they can finally rid themselves of the Scudetto winning players!

    Good riddance I say.
