Manuel Locatelli has revealed that he spoke to Massimiliano Allegri after he found out that he had taken the AC Milan job.
When it comes to Locatelli and Allegri, there is a lot of intertwining with Milan and Juventus. The midfielder began in Milan’s academy and scored his most notable goal against the Bianconeri – a winner in the 2016-17 season – and that was against an Allegri team.
Then, the pair got to work together at Juve, as they bought Locatelli from Sassuolo where he went after leaving Milan. They would win silverware together, before Allegri left following the Coppa Italia victory in 2023-24.
Locatelli on Allegri
It was announced last Friday afternoon that Allegri is the new coach of Milan. He returns 11 years after his first tenure with the Rossoneri ended, and it was a rather sudden development in the end.
Locatelli gave an interview to La Stampa in which he also spoke about Allegri, who he knew as an opponent first, as a coach second and now as an opponent again. His comments were relayed by MilanPress.
“Allegri? I spoke to him to wish him good luck, I love him and I think he’s a great coach. Having said that, I hope the Rossoneri are behind us!” he said.
Mediocre player with his mediocre comment
lol, what do you want him to say? I wish he won something, against us?
He’s far from mediocre, he’s one of the few good players to come out of our club and country in the last few years
He is extremely mediocre. If he’s one of the best, then no wonder the club and country stink right now.
What trophies did they win together?
Locatelli could’ve solved Milan’s midfield problem for the last 8 years during which time the club has gone through over 20 midfielders.
And Cristante before him would’ve been coming up to his 12th season in the first team.
Milan have probably signed 40 midfielders since Cristante.
How would he have solved them, exactly? We had Locatelli and he was poor, he went to Juve an went from poor to slightly above average. He was never better than Tonali, Kessie, Calhanoglu, Bennacer or Reijnders.
Tomorrow news will be like boateng reveals what he told allegri or somebody else.
That’s not news. That’s just another editor’s bullsh*t for reaching daily target post.
pobega and bresciannini type , no benefit to milan could come from him
Loca loca!! One of the best to his position. Was also superb when Italy won euros
